How TeenEagle Works
Free Online Round
A free, online exam occurring the last Saturday of every month
An 80-Question Knowledge Quiz and Spelling combined, based on the book and film for each TeenEagle level
These exams prepare students for our qualifier rounds, assist teachers in motivating students through classroom materials and act as a step one to reach our qualifiers.
Students are awarded a certificate showing their score and a notation that they have passed the TeenEagle Online Round. This does not qualify them for the Global Finals, it is more like a practice exam for free.
Regional Qualifiers
Online Regional Qualifier:

- 80 Questions, Spelling and Knowledge combined, in 80 minutes
- These events are held Monthly, on the FIRST and THIRD SATURDAY of each month
- Gold Medal placers win 10% off Global Finals events
- Super Online Qualifiers occur twice per year, 22 November and 14 February, with the top 5 placers globally winning discounts for the Global Finals events.
Paper-Based Regional Qualifier:

- Organised by a local partner or school, these are the same 80-question qualifier exams that are conducted online, just in paper form.
- Spelling and Knowledge based on the film and book, in one exam.

Regional Round Event:

- These events are daily, or event sleep-away events, wherein participants compete in 3 of our competitive events
- Spelling, Knowledge and a singular team debate challenge
- Gold Medal placers win 10% off Global Finals events
- Overall Champions are determined for their country, but the entire region is scored June 1st.

Overall scores are determined based on:
Debate 40%
Spelling 35 %
Knowledge 25%
All three qualify participants for our Global Finals events. Only by passing with at least an Honourable Mention certificate in a qualifier round (40% or higher) gets you invited to the Global Finals
All three types of Regional Qualifier events enter you into your region's score pool. At the end of every qualifier season (June 1st), the Top 10%, Top 5% and Top 1% of the region are awarded special certificates. Regions outlined below.
When considering Regional Top scorers, overall scores from Online or Paper-Based Round are calculated at .97 and overall scores from 3-event Regional Rounds are calculated at 1.02 to account for the added difficulty of participating in a debate round to qualify.
Global Finals
Three to Four Global Finals events occur each season
Participants take part in four competitive events, all comprising a percentage of their total, overall score.
Knowledge Quiz: 45 questions in 45 minutes.
Spelling Bee: 60 Questions in 30 minutes
The Writing Challenge: After a 30 minute collaborative discussion, participants write a persuasive or creative essay based on a randomly selected topic.
Persuasive Speaking- The Debate Challenge: Two debates, both team-style, 3-on-3 with some time to prepare as a team.

1.Scoring
All scoring for The Writing Challenge and Persuasive Speaking Team Debates are done in keeping with our rubrics , Judges are trained on the scoring and the use of the rubrics.
The Knowledge Quiz and Spelling Bees are automatically scored via our testing system or, if in a paper-based exam, our bubble sheets and scan grader application. Points vary depending on the difficulty of the question.
School Awards- Top 3 School awards are determined based on the average overall score of the top 5 participants from a school. If a school does not attend with at least 5 participants, they are not eligible for a top 3 award.
2.Tie-Breakers
In Regional and Global rounds Tie-breakers are sometimes needed to determine overall winners.
For Spelling and Knowledge, the tie-breaker is speed. The person who completes the exam faster with the high score, is placed higher.
For Debate, the tie breaker is the cumulative scores of the other sections. This means that if 3 students all scored an overall 98% on debate, meaning the top 3 debate scorers all have the same score, then First place would be awarded in the debate challenge to the participant with the higher overall score in the other events of the competition.

- Get in touch with your local schools and other educational organisations to explain TeenEagle
- Encourage teachers to start clubs at school
- Encourage students to take our online rounds, set up a Regional Qualifier Round in your country or a paper-based exam.
- Sign up students for Global Finals events and follow them all in our easy-to-use portal.
TEACHERS
- Join one of our Teacher Webinars, conducted monthly from July to December, to learn how TeenEagle materials and lesson plans can help you in your classroom
- Clubs at school:

- Get students to sign up, use our teaching materials and supplement with our zoom club classes
- Qualifier Test:

- Have your students take free online rounds to motivate them and train them on the test structures.
- Sign them up for a Regional Qualifier, online or a physical event if available in your country.
- Once students qualify with at least an honourable mention certification, they are able to sign up for a Global Finals event via our TeenEagle portal.
- If you can get 10 students to sign up for a Global Final event, their teacher/supervisor joins them for free!
- TeenEagle events are a great way to network, win awards for your school and motivate your students to become readers and get into the culture of competitions.
STUDENTS
- Sign up on our website to join our portal! / Join a TeenEagle Club at your school!
- Get study materials from the TeenEagle portal, under Event Materials, to help you do your best.
- Take a free online round to practice your skills, learn the test structure and increase your chances.
- Qualify for a Global Final by passing a Qualifier round. This can be an Online Regional Qualifier, a local Paper-Based Regional Qualifier or a Regional Round Event in your country.

- Passing with at least an Honourable Mention Certificate gets you accepted to our Global Finals!
- Choose your Global Finals event and book it! Check out our programmes and what we do during Globals, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
SCHOOL
- Choose a School Leader and use their email to register your school in our TeenEagle portal.

- This account will accept and approve all teachers that are in your organisation so they can follow their students.
- You can send an email to info@teeneagle.org to set up a new school.
- Set up a meeting with our team and your Head of English or International Counselor.
- Set up a TeenEagle school club and encourage students to join.
- Request a school presentation from our team to show your school all about TeenEagle and the Global finals!
AMBASSADOR
- Register yourself as an ambassador with our online form here
- Use our asset bank in our portal to create informative and intriguing social media content, or presentations for schools in your local area.
PARENTS
- Learn about how TeenEagle works and the benefits for your child.
- Speak to your child’s school about setting up TeenEagle clubs to help your little Eagle get ready for our competitions.

Regions For Regional Awards
At the end of each qualifier season, on June 1st, TeenEagle calculates the top 10%, top 5% and top 1% of scorers in all qualifier rounds. The winners for each region are awarded a special certificate to show that they are at the top of their entire region for that year.
